Shanghai 3.0 exhibition features the next generation of fashion photographers in Singapore. Taking Shanghai’s 1930s as a point of departure, the students of the BA(Hons) Fashion Media and Industries Programme will surprise you with their definition of the contemporary Asian fashion image.
Curated by the Level 2 students from the BA(Hons) Fashion Media and Industries programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, the students have brought the opulence and demeanour of 1930s Shanghai, a thriving port that was a mix of cultures from all around the world into the modern day, through a fashion photography exhibition. This exhibition will come to life through carefully curated fashion images, films and installations, capturing the zeitgeist of a city whose eclectic styles fused the flair of both East and the West. The exhibition adapts Shanghai 1930s’ narratives using visual cues from the era, moulding them into a contemporary fashion language.
