A Studio of One’s Own Season 2 Finale: Episode 8 – Dinh Q. Lê

The final episode of A Studio of One’s Own premieres next Thursday!
Rounding up on a fantastic note in this 8th episode, we will be speaking to Dinh Q. Lê, a world-renowned Vietnamese American multimedia artist. Dinh Q. Lê, best known for his weaving fabrications, has exhibited internationally across many different countries. Many of his works centres around the concept of Memory and its interrelation to the Now.
A Studio of One’s Own is a series of online dialogue sessions that seek to reach out internationally to the quiet voices of Southeast Asia, catching up on their changing creative routines having been confined to their own home space. In casual conversation with DECK, the invited artists speak about their adaptation to the inevitable changing circumstances whilst sustaining their artistic practice.
With the second season of A Studio of One’s Own, led by guest curator John Tung, we continue to bring the community closer through another exciting series of conversations with 8 artists from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

A Studio of One’s Own Season 2: Episode 7 – Geraldine Kang

Catch Geraldine Kang on A Studio of One’s Own. Geraldine’s recent work focuses on using the photographs to talk about the living conditions of migrant labour in Singapore, and her other interests include family, mental health and land-space issues. Geraldine uses the act of photography as an introspective method, and wishes for her images to challenge and evoke questions. Her interests have most recently broadened to include situating photographs within an installation, and thinking about the architectural potentials of an exhibition site. Geraldine has also participated in several community-oriented projects.
