About
Joanne Pang site-specific installation at DECK Open Ground engages with layered histories of birth and care. Its proximity to the former Salmon Maternity Home, invites reflection and dialogue on the intimate, often invisible infrastructures that shape beginnings: medical, emotional, and societal. Through conceptual and material inquiry the work functions as a space for introspection on the formation of and porosity of reproduction. The work reflects on the multifaceted dimensions of life, exploring the transformative process of motherhood as an epicenter of growth, change and reflection. It is a quiet invocation of memory, gestation, and the evolving nature of how we are nurtured into being.
