About
Loosely based on the novel by Marcel Proust, SIPF delves deeply into the conscious mind to unravel the present through recollections and memories. In its 9th edition, SIPF expands on the concept of the conscious mind, likened to a collection of photographs that capture fragments of our experiences, emotions, and thoughts. Each image represents a moment, evoking nostalgia, joy, or even sorrow.
In this interplay of memory and perception, we express our identity and understanding of the world. With photography conveying layers of meaning and context, the festival aims to articulate our past while navigating the present, inviting everyone to revisit familiar themes and perspectives through fresh lenses.

Details
Established in 2008, the Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is a biennial gathering of creative minds from around the world, united by a shared commitment to advancing the art and appreciation of photography. As one of Southeast Asia’s longest-running photo festivals, it serves as a critical platform for contemporary discourse on photography in the region.
SIPF plays a pivotal role in discovering, nurturing, and propelling Southeast Asian photographers onto the international stage. Through its diverse programmes, the festival engages the public and promotes visual literacy, driven by the belief that photography is an art form that can be enjoyed by all.
